**Assistant Assessment Officer - NSW Government**
- $50 - $55 per hour + super (Grade 5/6)
- Initial 6 month contract with view to extend
- Currently working from home, but the possibility that a return to the office may be required (Parramatta location)
- Hours range from 7:00am - 6:00pm, staggered starts, 8 hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Working with Children Check required

This is a fantastic opportunity within a large Government organisation assisting in a high volume environment. You will be working within a high performing call centre team environment, and playing a fundamental role in triaging child protection contacts received at the Child Wellbeing Unit, resolving enquiries in the first instance where possible.

**Responsibilites include**:

- Efficiently and accurately record information from mandatory reporters
- Gathering information and undertaking tasks to inform accurate initial assessments
- Assisting in identifying and providing advice to mandatory reporters concerning response options for students and/or their families where there are child protection concerns, or the need for assistance

**Skills/experience**:

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Awareness of maintaining the confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Strong computer skills - The use of a number of databases and systems is required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Some child protection experience or exposure is preferred but not essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
