**Key Responsibilities**
- Direct Plant-Level EHS Improvement and Sustainability activities to ensure a safe working environment in the plant and compliance with regulatory requirements and PPG EHS Management System. Lead the Facility EHS Leadership Team collaborating with all functions in the facility.
- Direct and coordinate operations planning, production, processing, quality, and engineering activities; and collaborate with Supply Chain on the Distribution activities of the plant.
- Define performance expectations and goals for subordinates and work units.
- Review processing schedules and production orders to determine staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
- Monitor production, quality control, maintenance, process engineering, and other operations to detect production problems and implement improvement solutions.
- Ensure customer complaints management and ensure root-cause and corrective actions are generated and communicated and drive year-over-year continuous improvement. Ensure continued compliance and certification to ISO 9001 quality accreditation.
- Review operations and confer with technical/administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems. Develop plans for efficient management of materials, machines, and employees, according to policies, procedures, norms, and legal regulations.
- Ensure operations are within product targets (cost/quality) and project targets (cost/time). Drive continuous improvement actions related to Absolute Material Utilization (AMU), Plant OTIF (On-Time in Full), and Productivity (Liters per Man Hour)
- Directly supervise EHS, Raw Material Warehouse, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering / Facilities departments. Manage staffing and lead the team, including coaching and mentoring to develop team and individual capabilities.
- Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams; review operating plans and determine adequate manpower and resources requirements to manufacture to support sales forecasts using the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Review production activity for re-work and productivity problems.
- Lead engineering changes to improve productivity, yield, and product quality. Review plant equipment capacity status and recommend new capital investments to ensure long-term availability for business growth.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing-related experience with hands-on operational and people management skills.
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or similar is required.
- MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
- High level of leadership and teamwork skills.
- Dedicated to Manufacturing Excellence, Global Best Practices, and Safety.
- Thorough and solid hands-on experience in manufacturing operations in chemicals, coatings, or other batch-processing environments is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing concepts, analysis, techniques, principles, and practices (FMEA, PM, Systems, Material flow, etc.).
- Strong aptitude and skill in organizational discipline, project management, and analyzing and interpreting various types of data.
- Competency in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts and tools are desirable. Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt or Green Belt Certification will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of SAP ERP Process / Functions / Batch Verification IT functions is desirable.
- Involvement with Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement activities is required.
