What's the role?

Owning sustainability for a government client account where JLL are responsible for the delivery of FM, Property/ Real Estate Services, for a portfolio of 900+ properties ranging from heritage listed, multi-storey, high rise commercial, and industrial sites. The role is an integral member of the leadership team and the key point of contact for all sustainability and environmental issues.

Although you’ll be committed to this dynamic client and account, you will be part of JLL’s broader sustainability team which is currently at 40 and continuing to grow We are proactively pushing net zero carbon with clients and internally, so right now it’s a really interesting space to play in. Be dedicated to exciting sustainability projects and make a name for yourself.

**Key responsibilities include**:
Reporting to the Government Resource Efficiency Policy (GREP) requirements

Delivery and management of the sustainability program, portfolio analysis, environmental reporting and recommendations for improvement

Ensuring that JLL managed owned and leased premises comply with environmental legislation and policy requirements

Actively engaging with JLL Facilities Managers to identify and manage environmental risks, minimise consumption, reduce costs and manage peak demand

Engage with and manage sub-contractors, confirming any sustainability-related services meet compliance or procedural requirements around environment, sustainability and risk management

Review and refine technical and commercial aspects of sustainability upgrades and tenant fit out proposals

Green lease schedules, including regular reports, facilitating building management committee meetings and establishing energy management plans

Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively

**Sound like you? In order to be successful**:
You’ll possess a passion for sustainability and hold a university qualification in engineering, science, business or a related field. Existing buildings experience, particularly within the context of facilities management or property management is desirable, with exposure conducting building energy audits, NABERS ratings, and building upgrades.

Being an ‘all-rounder’ is important who has worked across a range of clients, so you’re familiar with waste management, water data, environmental reports and recommending efficiency upgrades.

You may have held environmental property roles, or being consulting to property companies, and are now ready to step up to something bigger and better

Superior communication and people skills are a must - You are capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels and can develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance.
