**Role Description/Criteria**

**Role Description**
- Employ a variety of teaching strategies to implement an engaging and effective Performing Arts curriculum
- Develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater for individual learning needs
- Monitor the progress of each student and provide meaningful and regular feedback to each student on their progress
- Write formal academic reports that adhere to report writing guidelines
- Liaise with appropriate support staff in the implementation of the curriculum
- Embrace the use of information and communications technologies to enhance learning
- Have current knowledge of curriculum initiatives
- Commit to ongoing professional development
- Participate in the staff appraisal process
- Implement strategies which promote a healthy and positive learning environment
- Attend professional meetings as scheduled
- Lead musical activities as part of the co-curricular program, such as a school choir and school performances.

**General**
- Promote Child Safety practices throughout the school community, reinforcing St Paul Apostle South’s commitment to ensuring that the wellbeing of children in our care will always be our first priority.
- Promote, that through the school’s child safety policies, the school has zero tolerance to child abuse.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and others and comply with all safe work policies and procedures
- Maintain currency of first aid, mandatory reporting and anaphylaxis training
- Attend pro-rata staff meetings, professional learning opportunities and relevant after school activities as required
- Participate in duty supervision as rostered and other supervision duties when required
- Demonstrate professional and collegiate relationships with colleagues
- Uphold the professional standards expected of a teacher
