**About the team**:
The Department is growing Australia’s critical minerals sector to make Australia a world-leading producer of raw and processed critical minerals. To support the high-quality public policy needed to realise this ambition, the Critical Minerals Economics team:
- provides influential market analysis, insights and advice
- builds cutting edge models
- develops new data sources, and
- engages across the Australian Public Service; the mining and financial sectors; and academia.

**The opportunity**:
- drive delivery of analytical projects to influence outcomes, including by translating data and economic analysis into impactful advice
- undertake routine managerial and corporate tasks
- build the capability of your team and colleagues
- communicate with Ministers and their advisers, including through oral presentations and briefing products
- teach your team to build and maintain relationships across the department, and with representatives from industry, state and territory government, and other Commonwealth Government agencies
- actively promote a positive, inclusive culture in a diverse workforce.

**What you will do**:
The key duties of the position include:
- Manage a small team (5-8 people)
- Scope and deliver analytical and research projects
- Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Procure data and manage data subscriptions
