**About the team**:
The Critical Technologies Hub and the Digital Technology Taskforce work across government and with key sectors, industry groups and academia to define and prioritise key current and emerging technologies critical to Australia’s national interest.
- The Critical Technologies Hub (the hub) provides a single point of contact for coordinated whole-of-government advice on critical technology developments, opportunities and risks. In a role with the hub, you will support the Minister for Industry and Science to influence the development of contemporary critical technologies policy, domestically and with our international partners, through targeted, objective policy and advice to the Government.
- The Digital Technology Taskforce (DTT) provides co-ordinated whole-of-government advice on economy-wide digital policy. In a role with the DTT, you will support Minister for Industry and Science to influence the development of digital policy, domestically and with our international partners, through targeted, objective policy and advice to the Government.

**What you will do**:
No day is the same in these roles.

As an APS 5, you will be responsible for:

- contributing to advice on the intersection of national security policy and economic policy for critical technologies;
- coordinating research and analysis into critical or digital technologies of national interest to Australia, and to define and prioritise these technologies;
- identifying relevant policies across government and contributing to the development of measures to improve the coordination of these policies, including exploring new ideas and different viewpoints;
- developing technology policies, with a particular focus on regulatory approaches;
- identifying opportunities to engage agencies across federal, state and territory governments, industry and academia in support of the objectives of the Minister;
- identifying opportunities to work with international partners to support bilateral and multilateral partnerships and relationships to share knowledge and work towards joint goals;
- contributing to high quality briefings to support our executive, Minister’s Office, and Cabinet consideration of policy matters;
- supporting colleagues on the delivery of the responsibilities outlined above.

As an APS 6, you will be responsible for:

- providing accurate and tailored advice on the intersection of national security policy and economic policy for critical technologies;
- coordinating complex research and analysis into critical or digital technologies of national interest to Australia, and to define and prioritise these technologies;
- identifying technology policies across government and developing measures to improve the coordination of these policies and address inefficiencies, including exploring new ideas and different viewpoints;
- developing technology policies, with a particular focus on regulatory approaches;
- identifying opportunities to engage agencies across federal, state and territory governments, industry and academia in support of the objectives of the Minister;
- working with international partners to support bilateral and multilateral partnerships and relationships to share knowledge and work towards joint goals;
- contributing to high quality briefings to support our executive, Minister’s Office, and Cabinet consideration of policy matters;
- supporting Assistant Directors on the delivery of the responsibilities outlined above.

**Eligibility**:
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, applicants must be Australian Citizens.

**Security Clearance**:
A role with the hub requires a NV1
