The role of the Engineering Manager (EM) is to lead engineering excellence for the assigned project. The EM will plan, coordinate and oversee the technical and engineering activities for the project. The EM will be the key technical focal point on engineering project and services tenders, ensuring the requirements of the proposals are correctly addressed and estimated.
- The EM will be involved in the planning of engineering on the project and overseeing the efficient running of the project, including resource management and the provision of supervision and guidance to other engineers. The focus is on goals and the management of issues between business and delivery. The EM will demonstrate safety leadership; work and communicate effectively with the local and wider Kent organisation in the development and successful implementation of the local strategic objectives and business plan.**Responsibilities will include;**
- Project technical excellence in services and service delivery - levering off international and local capability
- To be the project focal point for Kent Engineering Delivery processes, procedures, systems and tools
- To act as the nominated Engineering Manager on engineering project
- To have the responsibility for seamless interface between inter-company offices involved with executing packages of work
- To lead, either directly or by appointing resources/teams, the execution of the project to ensure a positive outcome for all stakeholders including reporting requirements
- Provide oversight and guidance for efficient and effective delivery of engineering services to the project, with focus on delivery issue resolution
- staffing, implementation, etc.
- To support the Discipline Heads and the project management team in ensuring team skills and technical capability is developed and maintained to meet regional skills requirements
- Report weekly/monthly on the current status of project Engineering resourcing, live project status including EVA and CTR’s.
- Client relationship management and client satisfaction - driving high levels of repeat business
- To engage with clients to understand business drivers, market opportunities and risks, whilst building relationships with commercial and project stakeholders in the process
- To ensure project engineering requirements and resource levels are fully supported and approved throughout the lifecycle of the project, including staffing, implementation, etc.
