Hays are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager role in Local Government
**Your new company**
Our client is a non for-profit organisation who operates as a governing body and central services provider for their members across Victoria.
You will be part of a diverse and experienced team committed to delivering high-quality services.
**Your new role**
The Contract Manager’s main responsibility will be to deliver strategic procurement outcomes as well as building and maintaining a good relationship with key stakeholders and business partners.
**Roles and responsibilities include**:
- Establish and maintain effective business partnering relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- End to end procurement, including sourcing activities, tendering, evaluations and contracting
- Manage and maintain all necessary documentations associated with the contracts and file consistently
- Identify local government categories of spend to explore collaboration and value for money opportunities
- Align tender and contract management processes with requirements for councils described in the Local Government Act 2020
- Create procurement, tender and contract management documents to a high standard
- Build tender requirements, objectives, and specifications details for agreed products and services
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you'll come with demonstrable end to end procurement and contract management experience as well as excellent written communication skills and accuracy in preparing tender documentation, contracts, correspondence, reports, and presentations.
A background in public sector procurement and/or a background in local government will be advantageous but non-essential.
