**Pay: $500 / day + super**

**Location: Wollongong or Wagga Wagga & WFH (1 day in office)**

**Job Details**:

- This position will support the South Region, South East Tablelands precinct. This covers Wingecarribee Shire council area to the north, Snowy Monaro Regional council to south and Hilltops council to the west.
- Must be located in Wollongong or Wagga Wagga OR within a reasonable distance due to travel expectations within the precinct for site visits.
- As the Community and Safety Support Officer, you will engage with NSW regional communities and stakeholders to champion their needs and achieve integrated community outcomes.
- You will build and maintain working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across a large geographical area.
- With a particular focus on speed zone reviews, you will support team members in initial assessments of speed zone suggestions, through desktop analysis including investigating crash history, developing locality maps, entering information into SpeedlLink2 portal, creating speed zone and crash history maps.
- You will prepare initial assessment for Local Government Area Lead review and planning for site inspection and assist the detailed investigation for ongoing development of speed zone reviews.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a valid driver’s license and the capacity to routinely travel within the region.
- Must have transport-related tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience working in a similar professional position.
- We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with councils, regional communities and various others.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with the community and a commitment to understanding our customers’ transport needs would be seen as an asset to our team.
- Have the ability to capture an audience by communicating technical information effectively in a way everyone can understand.
- Have proven project management experience, flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, and great attention to detail.
- A familiarity operating in a State or local government environment is preferred.
