**Your new role**
- Ensure that all procurement activities within Council are carried out with a high degree of probity, and in accordance with relevant Policies and Legislation.
- Support procurement practices that enhance local economic development, environmental sustainability and social sustainability.
- Maintain an accurate and detailed Contract Register to ensure that all contracts entered into by Council are recorded on a timely basis.
- Provide support the Executive Manager, Procurement in all facets of Procurement, Tendering and Contract Management.
- Contribute to Council’s strategic procurement framework to help achieve best practice procurement, optimal value for money, sustainability and ethical outcomes.
- Build and develop internal relationships to ensure the procurement function meets the expectations of key internal customers and stakeholders.
- Provide support, assistance and advice to management and staff on procurement, purchasing, tendering and contract matters.
- Maintain Council’s Contract Register and associated data and information.
- Maintain Council’s Supplier database and make other staff aware of its contents.
- Review, with the assistance of the Executive Manager, Procurement, corporate practices and procedures in relation to Council’s procurement, purchasing and tendering functions.
- Establish and maintain Accounts Payable master records on the Finance accounting system.
- Update the Finance accounting system to assist with Creditor Supplier Management - Catalogue of suppliers.
- Support the development and implementation of good practice procurement systems and tools.
- Employ a best practice, commercially-orientated approach within the requirements of public sector ethical expectations and legislative requirements.
- Practice and maintain procedures that minimise the opportunity for fraud or misuse of public funds or any systems or processes.
- Update and maintain GIPA Information for all Council contracts >$150k.
