Your new role

Main Objective of the position:

- To provide assistance with the operation and management to ensure that all functions are performed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
- Oversee and report on the progress being made with reducing Council's rate arrears
- To provide support on the development of policies & procedures within the Revenue function

Some of the Main Job responsibilities are as under:

- Support the Manager Revenue & Procurement Services in instructing and supporting the rates staff
- Co-ordinate the collection of overdue rates and charges associated with debt collection
- Administer the Fire Services Property Levy (FSPL) as per the requirements of the State Revenue Office
- Ensure voters' rolls are prepared according to VEC and statutory requirements
- Administer the process for road naming requests in accordance with statutory naming requirements
- Promote a positive customer focus of the rates team and the Council

What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary degree or diploma in relevant field or extensive experience in rating and valuation functions
- Experience within local government rating.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative to improve processes and deliver high quality customer service
- Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities to achieve objectives within a timetable and with resources available
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated team coaching and supervisory skills

What you'll get in return

- Monday to Friday (Standard working hours)
- $62 to $66 an hour + Super
