At the Parliament, we focus on delivering innovative, professional and apolitical services to support our elected representatives and the democratic process.
We are looking for a full time, ongoing Research & Inquiries Officer to provide impartial information and research services to Members of Parliament, Electorate Officers and parliamentary staff.
About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator, Research Services you will provide background information on a range of topics, contribute to the Library's regular publications and develop broad overviews of issues or portfolio areas.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Undertake research that supports the work of the Parliament.
- Provide confidential briefings to Members of Parliament or other clients on request.
- Provide background information on a range of topics, including provision of clear interpretations of information, statistics and data.
- Prepare, write and contribute to the Parliamentary Library and Information Service's regular publications, and contribute to the development of new publishing formats.

About You
You will bring high-level research and writing skills and experience working in an Information Services environment to the role. This includes (but is not limited to):

- Well-developed customer service, communication and interpersonal skills in both written and oral forms.
- Proven ability to work effectively, cooperatively and creatively in a team-oriented environment.
- A proven capacity to produce reports within very strict deadlines, to prioritize workloads and conduct multiple research tasks.
- An ability to design, structure and publish research material for presentation in a range of formats.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a political environment, and in the preparation and publication of material that is objective and even-handed.
