**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

- The CHS Division of Medicine provides a range of medical specialties and allied health services. A strong emphasis is placed across all sections on accessible and timely care, delivered to a high standard of safety and quality. This is underpinned by the Division’s commitment to research and training. The Division works in partnership with professional colleagues, consumers, and a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.- Division of Medicine provides a range of medical specialties and allied health services. The Division works in partnership with professional colleagues, consumers, and a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.- The Renal Network offers a range of services for patients with various stages of renal impairment across ACT and Southern NSW. These include inpatient and outpatient services such as acute haemodialysis, satellite and home dialysis, Chronic Kidney Disease program, Renal Supportive Care program, renal transplantation, dialysis access, glomerular disease and general nephrology services. This team has a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on research and evidence-based practice and is committed to partnering with patients to provide excellent care. This position is based at Canberra Health Services and reports to the Director of the Renal Service.**DUTIES**:

- Under limited direction of the Renal Unit Director, you will:
1. Provide competent and efficient clinical management of patients requiring all aspects of renal care. While conducting clinical duties, this will include assessment and management of acute renal presentations to the Emergency Department, in-patient care, diagnosis and management of patients in renal outpatient clinics and satellite dialysis areas, ward consults and clinical handover.
- Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of junior medical staff.

3. Assist in the progression of training in renal including participation in the RACP PREP Advanced Training program, timely completion of assessments and involvement in research.

4. Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care.
- Comply with the policies and requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the policies of Canberra Health Services.
- 6. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.**ABOUT YOU**:

**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:
**Mandatory**:

- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
