**The Role**:
You will be responsible for immediate patient care including adequate history taking, physical examination, ongoing continuous review of patient condition and progress, investigations and therapy indicated by unit protocol or as directed by the duty specialist.

**The Facility**:
This hospital is one of the busiest in the country, sees over 89 000 patients per annum, with approximately 20% paediatric age group. The department has a diverse and interesting case-mix, with a high trauma load due to its role as the only trauma centre in this catchment area. Staffing for the department consists of forty (40) consultants (including a paediatrician and 3 PEMs), roughly 30 registrars, and multiple other junior medical staff. Consultants are present in the department from 8.00am until midnight seven days a week, and are on call overnight. Full time and part time applicants may be considered.

The department is accredited for 24 months of advanced training in emergency medicine with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
