
Clinical Midwifery Consultant Perinatal Sexual Health

What you'll do
As the Clinical Midwifery Consultant, Perinatal Sexual Health your role will be to establish statewide systems and processes that enables maternity services to better support prevention and management of women diagnosed with syphilis during pregnancy and reduce the risk of congenital syphilis. The role supports the Queensland Syphilis Action Plan 2023-2028 and the Queensland Syphilis in Pregnancy Clinical Guideline objectives, as well as form part of the Syphilis Expert Advisory Group for Queensland. You will demonstrate your advanced specialist knowledge, in principles and practice of public health as applied to communicable disease transmission, prevention and control in a community setting, demography/basic epidemiology, immunology, immunisation practice, health promotion practice, and project management, with a specific focus on sexual and reproductive health in the context of syphilis transmission and management. About you
Qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), as a Midwife appearing on the AHPRA register of practitioners.
A current 'C' class licence
Whilst not mandatory, possession of a relevant post graduate qualification (i.e. Graduate Certificate, or Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree) or evidence of enrolment in such a program is highly desirable.
Previous experience working in public/sexual health environment will be well regarded.
