About the role
The purpose of this role is to deliver high level clinical expertise in the areas of assessment, intervention and evaluation of perinatal service development and integration to enable more effective perinatal mental health services. This role will have a leadership role as a member of a multidisciplinary team to implement changes through quality and service improvements to achieve better outcomes for consumers with perinatal mental health needs. This role will work collaboratively and support cross sector collaboration with a range of internal and external providers, including primary health care services and organisations and will be responsible and accountable for the provision of consumer focused and evidence-based care and enhanced capacity of these services..
About you
- Experience working with parents and families with infants experiencing severe and complex psychosocial circumstances affecting parental l and psychiatric problems in the perinatal period with demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent - infant relationships an infant's optimal development.
- Works collaboratively within a complex stakeholder and system framework with internal Queensland Health services as well as external government, non-government, and private health sector service providers to achieve the optimum outcomes for the clients and early intervention and prevention strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide senior clinical and service improvement leadership and demonstrated autonomy in monitoring and prioritising workload demands to develop and implement quality improvement, service evaluation and research initiatives.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills including ability to summarise clinical and operational presentations, provide consultation, advice, and recommendations to members of the multidisciplinary team and implement changes in the development of better practice and service improvements
