
Indigenous Service Support Officer

**TARGETED IDENTIFIED VACANCY - This is designated as an Identified role, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted and arguable under Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, and the Recruitment and Selection (Directive 07/23).
As Indigenous Service Support Officer, you will specifically:
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. - Assist and support youth justice staff and relevant community stakeholders in culturally appropriate assessment, case planning and interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, and contemporary best practice.
- Implement culturally appropriate individualised case plans through designing and implementing intervention strategies, negotiating with service providers, and linking clients to the services/supports they require (including formal and informal services, government and non-government agencies).
- Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case notes and records, preparation of reports and performance reporting.
- Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team involving a range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality casework outcomes.
- For this position, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted and arguable under Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
- Applicants are encouraged to provide a referee who is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
- Travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current 'C' Class Drivers licence.
