We are currently seeking a Part time Fixed Term Contract staff member to join our team based at our offices in St Albans.

**The role of Youth Arts and Events Officer will report to the Community and Performing Arts Senior Officer, we are seeking an individual who can bring their skills and experience to**:

- Develop responsive community cultural development initiatives to social issues affecting young people
- Ensure effective project management across planning, implementation and evaluation
- Manage the expenditure and reporting of allocated budgets
- Seek advice from, and consult, with organisations providing services to young people, relevant Council Committees, young people who live, work, study or re-create in Brimbank
- Adopt a best practice model referencing other Councils, regional organisations, State and Federal Government departments.

**To be considered you will need to address the following Key Selection Criteria**:

- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
- Several years’ experience and degree qualification in community development, community cultural development, creative industries, social work, or related discipline
- Proven experience and leadership skills in motivating, supporting and working with young people;
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation of community cultural development and arts programs for young people.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with and engaging artists, partners, and community members from groups spanning cultural heritage, language, gender, sexuality, age and abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, facilitating and maintaining networks and working in partnership with a broad range of groups including the community, business and government sectors to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for young people
- Demonstrated experience working with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds and knowledge of issues impacting their health and wellbeing
