Financial Account

Job Introduction
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the actuals and reporting side of the finance function runs smoothly and all financial deadlines are met in a timely basis.

As part of a relatively small but growing team it will be important for the incoming person to be a self-starter, happy to pick up tasks and projects that may not fall directly in their remit and be prepared to get involved in anything and everything.

Main Responsibilities
- Month end reporting process - posting journals and running reports for Management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet & cash flow) and perform variance analysis for accounts.
- Review monthly departmental actuals vs. budgets providing commentary. Meet with business to discuss variances.
- Assist in preparing monthly and annual tax reporting - BAS / WHT and income tax.
- Reconcile content asset inventory database to SAP and assist content team with correcting errors and omissions
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local BritBox business and overseas finance teams.
- First review of work carried out by offshore IBM team.
- Review and update cash actuals; oversee capital contribution process from shareholders, update weekly cashflow and review of bank reconciliations by IBM.
- End to end accounts receivable process for third party distribution partners
- Input into year-end processes and statutory reporting, includes liaising with external audit and tax advisors.
- Assist FP&A team with budget and forecast processes where required.
- Assist in updating subscriber model and utilise analytics resources available.

- 3-5 years’ experience in similar Accounting role
- SAP experience and strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience in liaising with external auditors and meeting auditors requirements
- Understanding of IFRS and tax rules
- Clear communication skills; both written and verbal
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships across the business that deliver results while maintaining a financial focus
- Ability to manage a busy workload with mínimal supervision
- Media / start up experience desirable
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data

**Education**
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Accounting qualification or working towards qualification.
