**ABOUT THE ROLE**
We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in Western Sydney. You will provide support for people with a disability to live independently and maintain their best possible social wellbeing. You will support our customers to achieve their personal goals and to live satisfying lives in our community.
**KEY RESPONSIBLITIES**:
- Supporting our customers to achieve their goals for example, improving daily living skills through capacity building (e.g., attending the library to practice reading and writing in english, identifying items, etc.)
- Transporting customers to & from services or activities (e.g., appointments, etc.)
- Assisting customers with finding employment and navigating the employment process
- Promoting independent decision making
- Work within the principles of person-centred practice
**ABOUT YOU**
You are a passionate and dedicated individual who is looking to make a difference in the community. As a people person, you pride yourself on exceptional customer service whilst ensuring customers achieve their goals and aspirations.
**Requirements**:
- Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of customers
- Experience working with adults with complex support needs and mental health (including, intellectual disability, developmental delay, autism, language disorder, etc.)
- Driven, energetic, committed & patient
- Must be compassionate
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Flexibility with shifts
- Ongoing weekly permanent shifts available from Monday to Wednesday (4:30pm-7:30pm)
- Chaldean-speaking (required due to language barrier)
**WHAT YOU NEED**:
- Current driver's licence and vehicle (essential)
- Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screen (or ability to obtain one is essential)
- NDIS Module 1 (or willing to obtain)
- National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
- Qualifications in Education (highly regarded)
