**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Fleet Procurement and Disposal**:

- Oversee the purchasing process for new vehicles, ensuring alignment with organisational needs and budget.
- Manage the sale or disposal of vehicles at the end of their lifecycle in a timely and cost-effective manner.

**Maintenance and Servicing**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles.
- Coordinate with service providers to ensure regular and emergency maintenance is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor vehicle conditions and schedule repairs and servicing as needed.

**Relationship Management**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with vehicle suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with various divisions within the Council to understand their vehicle needs and respond effectively.
- Manage contracts and negotiations with external vendors and service providers.

**Operational Efficiency**:

- Implement strategies to optimise fleet utilisation and reduce operational costs.
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in fleet management technology.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

**Record Keeping and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of fleet operations, including procurement, maintenance, and disposal activities.
- Generate regular reports on fleet status, costs, and performance metrics.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all fleet operations adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and responsibility among vehicle users.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have proven experience in fleet management, particularly with large vehicle fleets.
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics and vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficient in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to remote areas as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

**Salary**: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
