**We are seeking an experienced medical secretary/receptionist with a healthcare background for a full-time role in a busy specialist surgical practice**

An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic medical secretary to join a specialist surgical medical practice. This position will provide an exceptional front desk reception service to patients, work effectively as part of a small team and help ensure the smooth running of this busy practice

This is an ideal role for an experienced secretary with a healthcare background who is comfortable working in a busy environment, is passionate about building a career in the medical industry and has the motivation to learn.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to pick things up quickly. It is essential that you have excellent time management skills (and can juggle 10 things at once) and treat all of your work with the highest level of confidentiality.

**Key areas of responsibility include**:

- Reception duties including meeting and greeting patients, taking incoming calls and booking patient appointments
- Management of patient invoicing and receipting of consultations
- Hospital bookings - private and public hospital
- Organise follow up and post-operative treatment checks
- Issuing accounts and collecting payments and processing
- Experience working as a medical secretary in a busy specialist practice - surgical preferred
- Strong computer skills and confident in ability to use software - Genie experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to work under pressure and pick processes up quickly
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent people skills to relate well to patients, staff and healthcare professionals
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
