As part of the evolution of Urban Utilities, we are thrilled to bring multiple vacancies for Treatment Plant Operators to market We have multiple opportunities across our service territory, including roles within Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Lockyer Valley providing a chance to secure a great role close to where you live
Our Treatment Plant Operators (TPO) are the heart of our business. They play a crucial role in protecting the environment and public health through our core treatment services across our 26 Resource Recovery Centres. You are truly at the forefront of enriching the lives of over 1.6 million people every day.
As a TPO, you will support the delivery of day-to-day operational outcomes at our Resource Recovery Centres including safety, production and compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Support the operations team via routine allocated tasks to deliver reliable and efficient service of core wastewater treatment, including the provision of recycled water, off network waste and co-digestion receivals.
- Carry out simple inspection and cleaning tasks, following instructions and working under direct or indirect supervision to complete the allocated tasks
- Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
- Provide operational support by performing a range of routine activities using existing systems and protocols.
About You
- A willingness and desire to learn, be curious, and build relationships with colleagues.
- Interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise with other technical and professional personnel.
- Relevant previous experience in roles where safety, quality and teamwork matters.
- Foundational understanding of mechanical principals.
- C class drivers’ license.
