- Immunopathology is a Division of SydPath, the pathology provider to St Vincent's Public Hospital Sydney, the St Vincent's campus and an extensive range of external clients, both in country regions and metropolitan Sydney. This facility and the immunopathology registrar position are fully accredited by the Royal Colleges of Pathologists and Physicians Australasia (RCPA and RACP respectively) for Immunopathology training. This position will be occupied by an Immunopathology Registrar who will be from: i) a clinical immunology stream seeking joint RACP and RCPA accreditation. The position is part of a combined Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology Training Program that is run jointly by St Vincent’s and Westmead Hospitals.

**What**you'll** be doing**
- The Advanced Trainee position is suitable to fulfil the requirements for one or more years of advanced training for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Immunopathology.
- The Trainee is a key person who works closely with all members of staff and must:
- Work as part of, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team.- Deal with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature.- Exercise discretion and sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality.- Demonstrates leadership within a team environment and actively contribute to team activities including meetings and decision making processes.- Demonstrate an ability to initiate and undertake discussions with referring doctors and junior and senior hospital medical staff regarding appropriateness and interpretation of tests results- Communicate effectively with Scientific Staff of Sydpath.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- At least 4 years full time postgraduate experience
- Must have attained Part 1 FRACP Examination
- Demonstrated clinical competency and commitment to training in internal medicine and Immunology; involvement in patient safety and quality improvement activities
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and research; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aitkenhead Ministries.
