Our Group operations are based in Liverpool St. (Sydney CBD) providing support across all sites in several key areas including IT, ensuring Evolution are positioned as a leader in effective optimisation of Information Technology.

About the role
We are currently recruiting a Data Platform and Operations lead to join our team in a permanent position. The Data Platform and Operations lead will lead a data platform, engineering, and architecture team to deliver a brand-new progressive programme of projects, including building a scalable, secured, and cost-effective Microsoft Azure Data Lakehouse and designing and implementing a new enterprise data architecture framework. The role will also lead the day-to-day operations for the team’s platform and reporting work, including managing incidents, tasks, and troubleshooting.
This role will involve significant stakeholder engagement, defining requirements, programme managing the implementation of fit-for-purpose enterprise data architecture, data platform and diverse engineering solutions using the latest tools, techniques, and technologies and leading and developing members of the teams, promoting a high performing and collaborative environment.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience in leading teams and complex programmes of work in data platforms, engineering, and architecture, including with Power BI, AI/ML technologies and tools and have an in depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services, within the mining industry and ideally specifically in the fields of asset management (including maintenance) and/or finance. You will need to show a strong background in being able to scope, build and deliver a scalable, future proof enterprise architecture framework and technologies and state of the art Microsoft Azure Data Lakehouse.
You will be able to show evidence of the strong business benefits, improvement initiatives and outcomes that your work has delivered, such as significant financial impact/savings, large scale automation resulting in substantial time/cost savings in line with improving companies’ overall performance and increasing competitive advantage.
Key is that you are comfortable in demonstrating experience of building relationships with operational mining and asset management professionals is key. Also, key is that you that you are comfortable communicating, presenting, training/upskilling and continuously improving, able to translate complexity to business domain leaders.
This is very much a dual role being hands on and leadership, where you will be leading your own team and outcomes, with clear KPIs and incentive based on performance within a supportive, structured team.

This role is offered on a permanent basis with a competitive salary and incentives, within a hybrid work environment.
