The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking a Recruitment Partner to work in our National Recruitment Unit. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time position at the APS 5 classification level.

The successful applicant can work out of our offices located in either Belconnen (Canberra) or Sydney, although flexible working arrangements (including a hybrid model of working from home and the office) apply.

**About the role and business area**

As an APS 5 Recruitment Partner you will either support one of our Account Managers in designing and running recruitment and mobility processes, or support recruitment operations (which will include overseeing pre-employment checks, issuing employment letters of offer and managing employee records in the ABS’ corporate systems).

Key accountabilities of this role may include:

- support the design and running of recruitment processes, with a focus on talent acquisition
- manage and prioritise tasks and timeframes, allocating NRU resources appropriately
- deliver high quality customer focused solutions and maintain effective communication channels
- understand and comply with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

The role is part of the National Recruitment Unit (NRU) of the People Services Branch, whose purpose is to drive transformation through cultural change, building partnerships and delivering efficient and fit
- for-purpose services, advice and support.

In NRU we manage the recruitment and on-boarding of ABS office-based staff and field interviewers. This includes developing and implementing recruitment strategies, supporting selection and mobility processes, pre-employment checks and offers of employment.

**What we are looking for (selection criteria)**

You should be able to demonstrate most or all of the following:

- knowledge of, and ideally experience in, running end to end recruitment processes
- experience using recruitment and other software (desirable is Excel, Notes, HireRoad (e-recruit)) along with an understanding of how to interpret a payroll system
- excellent customer service skills and stakeholder management skills
- experience in identifying, resolving and communicating issues in a timely fashion
- ability to identify, support and share ideas and improvements to our business.
