What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader Workforce Planning, Specialist Protective Command.

SPC is a hybrid (Specialist/Operational) Command within the AFP and is responsible for establishing national strategy, governance and capabilities whilst also delivering operational outputs within the ACT. This role is Workforce Planning supporting Specialist Protective Command (SPC) in delivering operational outcomes through effective workforce coordination and management, situated in Canberra ACT.

As the Team Leader you will be responsible for prioritising, leading and managing a small team to ensure delivery of Human Resources and Workforce Planning services to support SPC. This role requires you to work closely with the SPC Senior Executive, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining effective working relationships. The Workforce Planning Team delivers operational HR and Workforce Planning advice and guidance regarding medium-term strategic and complex individual employee matters for employees aligned to the Command. The role is responsible for fostering partnership with regional commands and the broader AFP through engagement with stakeholders.

You will be known for your ability to research and analyse complex information to provide evidence-based recommendations and inform the development and implementation of corporate workforce planning initiatives.

As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

**Primary responsibilities of the role include**:
Manage the outputs of a small team, responsible for delivering core resource coordination and workforce management deliverables for SPC.
Manage SPC's Establishment and coordinate SPC recruitment processes.
Prepare workforce analytical reporting and provide advice on complex workforce planning and forecasting for current and future vacancies.
Developing new processes to better support SPC workforce management.
Enable continuous business and process improvement through the provision of guidance and leadership to the team and internal business area stakeholders.
Ensure both individual growth and succession planning through developing capability within the team.
Work collaboratively with Team Leader counterparts across SPC, regional Human Resource teams, broader Corporate Services and operational business areas.
Implement and support AFP corporate and local Human Resource initiatives.
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
High analytical ability and demonstrated attention to detail.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Workforce Planning
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
