What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader - Logistics - Specialist Protective Command (SPC).

SPC is a hybrid specialist operational Command within the AFP that directly supports the AFP's National Security Capability.

Through this role, you will be directly contributing and supporting specialist capabilities. You will lead and manage a team of professional staff whose primary role is to support AFP specialist teams through contemporary, dynamic and cost effective logistics that effectively supports the cores business activities of SPC. This includes both the domestic and international operational environment.

As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

**This work will include**:
Leading, managing and developing team resources to effectively deliver logístical and fleet support to the SPC;
Manage, oversight and accountability for the SPC Warehouse, ensuring sufficient stock levels to service SPC including, purchasing, tracking, controlling inventory and controlled items via Inventory Management Systems (IMS);
Manage, oversight and accountability for SPC Asset Stocktake and Asset Register Control, including accurate records of System Application Product (SAP), incoming/outgoing stock items issued to members and stock discrepancies;
Manage, oversight and accountability for the Commands munitions, this includes but is not limited to forecasting, stakeholder engagement, monitoring using and procurement;
Ensuring all policies and processes are adhered to in relation to the SPC Warehouse including SPC Armouries;
Manage, oversight and accountability for SPC Fleet;
Oversight and accountability for dispatch and receipt of land, sea and air freight (including dangerous goods and controlled items) in line with the relevant jurisdiction's legislative and regulatory requirements;
Developing, implementing and managing systems and processes that effectively support the movement of SPC members operationally;
Support and deploy specialist capabilities both on and offshore at short notice;
Deploy off shore to support AFP operations if required;
Requirement to be on-call;
Undertaking projects, research and other tasks to support the SPC Business.

Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one;
Relevant and contemporary Team Leader knowledge and experience in the field of logistics, assets, armoury, fleet and warehouse management; and
Hold or have the ability to obtain formal qualifications in logistics.
