The RFS is a global leader in fire and emergency services. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and visionary leader to drive strategic oversight across Community Resilience, State Operations, Aviation, and Logistics for the world’s largest volunteer fire service.

In this critical role, you will lead operational strategies, optimise resources, and empower high-performing teams to deliver effective service outcomes. You will oversee bush fire risk management, fire intelligence initiatives aligned with Net Zero targets, and targeted community engagement programs to enhance public safety.

Additionally, you will support the Commissioner’s legislative responsibilities, strengthen interagency partnerships, and promote a strong culture of risk management, safety, and wellbeing.

We are seeking a leader with extensive experience in operational coordination and strategic management within complex and dynamic environments. You are a decisive and innovative thinker with a proven ability to lead large-scale operations, optimise resource deployment, and drive organisational excellence.

You will bring expertise in bush fire risk management, fire intelligence, and emergency response, with a strong understanding of government priorities and legislative frameworks. Your ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and interagency partnerships will be critical in achieving exceptional outcomes for community safety and resilience.

A skilled communicator and motivator, you excel at empowering high-performing teams and creating a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Your strategic mindset, coupled with a commitment to community engagement and risk reduction, positions you as a transformational leader ready to make a lasting impact.

**To be eligible for consideration for this role you must have**:

- Firefighting and emergency management qualifications to enable fulfilment of operational requirement of the role.
- Significant experience in senior leadership and management of high performing teams.
- Graduate certificate or degree in a relevant discipline.
- During periods of major fire activity, the incumbent may be required to support operational management activities consistent with their skills and background.
