**About the opportunity**:
You will be tasked with executive leadership for the Information and Technology (I&T) infrastructure and architecture team responsible for the design and implementation of a modern digital architecture for the department that meets its current and future I&T needs as well as developing and planning an infrastructure modernisation and refresh strategy to ensure all I&T infrastructure is within supportable limits.

Establishing and maintaining a culture of high performance to drive change in a complex organisation, ensuring effective change management and stakeholder/customer engagement is crucial.

**About you**

To be successful you will:

- Lead and manage the I&T Architecture and Infrastructure group by addressing issues such as operational planning, resource allocation, staff development, team management and communication to ensure effective and efficient deployment of staff and resources to ensure client and business outcomes are achieved.
- Lead and ensure the effective planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major and complex projects relating to critical I&T architecture and infrastructure programs, initiatives, strategies and frameworks that underpin the department’s goals and objectives.
- Provide technical leadership for delivery of compelling digital architecture and infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure a defined set of digital architecture standards are documented and adopted within the branch and across the department.
- Significantly contribute to the effective planning, management and delivery of I&T branch’s functions, goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain productive partnerships with external IT providers to ensure optimum allocation and utilisation of digital resources and value for money.
- Represent the department in senior level and/or inter-agency delegations and negotiations pertaining to digital architecture and infrastructure.
