**About Clinical Genetics**
Austin Health Clinical Genetics Service coordinates and delivers clinical genetics services at Austin Health, Eastern Health and Northern Health. In addition, Familial Cancer clinics are conducted at Albury/Wodonga, Ballarat and Shepparton.
**About the role**
The Certified Genetic Counsellor will work in conjunction with the Senior Genetic Counsellor/Unit Manager and Director of Clinical Genetics to help coordinate and deliver high quality genetic services to the Northern region of Melbourne. This role will involve leadership of the professional group of genetic counselling and genetic counselling support staff (intake assistants). The clinical aspect of the role includes direct responsibility for leading and managing the Neurogenetic service and contributing to the development of a mainstream model of care with neurology departments in Austin Health and Eastern Health.
**About you**
Essential:
- Must hold a Masters of Genetic Counselling, or Diploma of Genetic Counselling and
- Be HGSA Board Certified, Fellow HGSA (FHGSA)
Desirable:
- Experience in leading a Genetic Counselling tea
- Experience in Genetic Counselling for neurogenetic conditions
