**The Department**

The Clinical Genetics and Genomics Service (CGGS) at Alfred Hospital is a diagnostic and predictive health service. The GCCS provides care for adults who have a known or suspected inherited condition and/or family history of an inherited genetic condition. Patients are referred from other specialist clinicians and general practitioners. The service coordinates non-admitted outpatient clinics that are co-located with other speciality clinics across Alfred Health campuses.

**The Role**

This position reports to the Manager of the CGGS. The Genetic Counsellor will provide clinical genetic counselling services.

**Qualification & Experience Required**

**_ Essential _**
- Must hold a Masters in Genetic Counselling or recognised equivalent tertiary qualification in Genetic Counselling
- Has or is expected to achieve FHGSA in accordance to the HGSA Clinical Certification Policy for Genetic Counsellors
- Must hold and maintain annual registration with HGSA while practicing in line with HGSA Professional Practice Policy for Genetic Counsellors
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and competencies of genetic counselling - Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills - Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

- Previous genetic counselling experience
