**The Role**

You will routinely provide expert policy advice and be responsible for the development of ICT policy and directives specific to Australian Army Cadets. You will have an in-depth knowledge of ICT service delivery functions and be responsible for the development, implementation and review of policies and processes relevant to the ICT Branch, as well as leading Army Cadet related ICT projects. You will lead the ICT Branch team, an integrated workforce of Army, APS and volunteers, and are expected to develop this team through appropriate coaching, feedback and management.

You will be accountable for assigned resources, inclusive of managing the Australian Army Cadets allocated ICT hardware and expected to abide by Defence’s financial management procedures. You will be required to engage widely within Army Cadets, across Regions to ensure ICT issues are managed in a timely fashion, at times after hours. You will also need to work with external ICT stakeholders who support and/or are responsible for the ICT Systems operated by Australian Army Cadets, building professional working relationships of benefit to the organisation

**About our Team**
The Australian Army Cadets is an Army youth development organisation, consisting of Army, APS, adult volunteers and cadet youth. The organisation has 20,000 personnel, including 18,000 cadet youth, and is geographically dispersed across Australia. It is structured under a Nation Headquarters Australian Army Cadets (HQAAC) and nine Regional Headquarters.

HQAAC is located in Canberra and is comprised of the Commander AAC and six Branches: Policy, Safety, Operations, Personnel, Training and ICT. Importantly, the ICT Branch supports the National and Regional Headquarters, and oversees the work of volunteer ICT support personnel across Australia. It actions ICT requests that are escalated to it, and works closely with the Joint Services Support Division, who administers CadetNet on behalf of the three Service Cadet organisations (Navy, Army and Air Force Cadets).

ICT Branch also manage a high volume of hardware on behalf of Army Cadets, ensure correct configuration, solve connectivity/software/access issues, support training courses, develop and provide input into policy, advise commanders and staff, and work with a range of stakeholders. Australian Army Cadets seeks to achieve best practice regarding youth safety and protection. The ICT systems it employs are critical enablers to ensuring this capability. As such the ICT Systems Administrator has a critical role as part of the broader team within Army Cadets.
- Set work priorities and managing workflows to ensure accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements.
- Be accountable for management of allocated resources, including ICT hardware.
- Lead Army Cadet ICT initiatives or input into Stakeholder led ICT Projects, inclusive of displaying change management skills.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and strategies to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of ICT systems administration.
- Display problem-solving skills, particularly for unpredictable situations.
- Display strong interpersonal skills, inclusive of:

- Experience in customer service and conflict resolution to maintain the continuity of ICT capability delivery.
- Developing, mentoring and motivating team members across a diverse range of employees.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders within and external to the organisation and the ability to build professional relationships.
