**About the Role**

**Fixed term for 24 months - full time**

The Data Standards Analyst (GTFS) is responsible for leading the consultation, documenting, review and endorsement of the overarching Data Information Requirements and associated technical specifications and Operator practice notes relating to real-time and static data exchange, interoperability and provision to Open Data including GTFS, GTFS-R, SIRI and NeTEx.

The role oversees the full life-cycle of standards development, ensuring they are both current, valid and scalable through extensions to meet with customer expectations. This means developing strong and collaborative partnerships with open data communities including Mobility Data, OpenStreetMaps, Google together with transport data professionals in other Australian and global jurisdictions.

The Data Standards Analyst (GTFS) will also work closely with the Data Modelling and Engineering Teams to integrate the standards into the Transport Data Platform (the Department’s data warehouse) so that information is represented to the organisational view.

Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring that the integrity of the endorsement process within the department and across operators (aligning to contracts), partners and customers, taking into account the overall Integration Transport Data Program strategy and organisational business requirements while proactively engaging the relevant parts of the organisation and business stakeholders.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- ** Demonstrated specialist** in the end-to-end cycle of data standards including the management, integration, and analysis of global standards.
- **Build stakeholder buy-in** through strong and trusted relationships, providing sound advice to key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in the design and implementation of the standards and ongoing improvements that satisfy identified business needs.
- **Develop work practices, procedures and guidelines** to support embedding data standards and extensions within the DTP’s ways of working and leveraging improvements through Operator contracts.
- ** Understand data concepts** to align standards so that information is represented correctly.
- **Research and provide critical analysis** to support innovation, development and implementation of uplifted data standards through a continuous improvement cycle.
- **Professional independent judgement** to develop data standards process documentation and implement system changes and develop innovative responses to evolving customer expectation.
- **Embed continuous improvement** to existing methodologies/work practices that result in business improvements for the work area.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification
- Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role (3 - 5 years)

**Desirable**
- Experience working with Agile product teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in geomatics, spatial information management or a related area
