We are currently looking for a
**Train Control Manager **to provide Project and Engineering Management for the delivery of new and upgraded Train Control systems required for MTM Operations and OCMS groups to run rail services to the Melbourne Airport.
- Leading the Delivery (Installation and Testing & commissioning) of Train Control System modifications (Sigview, Westcad, TCMS, ATS ect) Telemetry systems, Communications, OCMS System Interfaces, Systems Integration Test Lab
- Engagement of system suppliers (UGL, Siemens, Hitachi)
- Operational Control Interfaces - MTM, V/Line and ARTC
The role will lead a small team of Engineers and Supervisors to provide Train Control Solutions and expertise interfacing to a modern rail CBTC system, for Sunshine Systems Alliance (SSA) as part of Melbourne Airport Rail Project (MAR) to deliver its technical objectives and requirements.
This role will support the delivery of what will be one of the most iconic projects in Melbourne, the highly anticipated
**Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) Project**
This is a unique and exciting role as you will support various projects and gain exposure to multi-disciplinary teams this will enable you to further your experience and develop a long-term career with Metro.
This role will work between the CBD offices and our new offices in Sunshine
**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Leading the team in Program/Schedule management including change management, Finance and cost control - tracking spends, accruals and forecasts including subcontracts and materials
- Developing and maintaining the strategy, program of works whilst incorporating all engineering, design, testing and commissioning activities are integrated within the overall alliance
- Lead and manage a team including recruitment - ensuring engaging and empowering members to achieve great outcomes to integrate into the SSA and MTMs teams to maintain clear goals and career progression roadmaps.
- Engage and lead an engineering and design strategy working with the Engineering teams and Subject matter experts in line SSA program and scope of works, including engagement of design resources, ensuring processes are followed for integrating designs together.
- Continually improve work practices, methods and activities specifically around the development and implementation of Train Control works on the MTM system.
**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in engineering/project management or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years in a Leadership or project Management Role
- Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience in train control systems in complex rail infrastructure environments
- Experience working in alliance format delivery preferred
- Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to whilst managing complex situations, having solid problem solving and negotiating skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally & written will all levels of stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, ability to write reports and manage time effectively.
