We are seeking an experienced and capable **Foundry Operations Manager** on behalf of our client - a prestigious engineering company based in Hobart, Tasmania.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The purpose of role is to manage day to day operations of the foundry. You will be directly responsible for 5 employees.

**Main duties and responsibilities / Core objectives include**:

- Quoting/costing, managing, and charging jobs
- Ordering consumables and sub-contract services
- Liaising with customers and suppliers
- Managing a small team

The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.
You will fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as needed.

**Skills, competencies and essential requirements**:

- Prior management experience (managing teams / leadership role)
- Microsoft 365 incl. Word/Excel/Outlook Knowledge
- Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
- Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
- Teamwork: willingness to assist, support and manage others as required and get on with team members.
- Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
- Professional approach.
- Ability to work to time constraints.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident manner.
- Positive attitude to safety.
- Full Driving licence
- Ideally_ you will (highly desirable):

- have experience in foundry/manufacturing setting
- basic HR/Award knowledge
- Forklift licence
- have the ability to work effectively in a team
- have a mature approach to work
- a desire and ability to achieve high standards of work
