Maroba is a dynamic Christ-focused organisation providing a range of accommodation, care, and wellness services to people within our community. Based in Waratah (Newcastle), accommodation choices range from independent living at our Maroba Terrace units through to full care (including dementia, Alzheimer’s and palliative care).
- Providing quality spiritual care centred on the individual resident needs and outcomes.
- Ensuring spiritual care recognises and respects the resident choices and preferences in the context of holistic care.
- Ensuring spiritual care choices, preferences and needs are documented, addressed and integrated into the residents care plan.
- Ensuring residents are supported to prepare for end of life by reflecting their life, contribution, worth and legacy.
- Implementing innovative approaches to spirituality including church services, devotions, memorial services, rituals and celebrations.
- Leading devotions and services as well as 1:1 care and palliative care

This is a 12 hour per week position, worked over two
- six hour days. At this time the days are Wednesday and Friday but this may change is negotiable for the successful applicant. We are seeking applicants who are able to demonstrate a high level of spiritual commitment and genuine heart for people together with;
- Relevant Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy or Ministry qualifications
- Experience in Pastoral ministry and/or Chaplaincy
- Strong ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- High level communication skills, interpersonal, written and oral with an ability to develop rapport quickly with people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in working with elderly communities, ideally, with previous / current health or aged care experience would be desirable
