Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety - in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
At Virgin Airlines we are committed to delivering excellence in aviation. Our Fleet Engineering department is a cornerstone of our operations, ensuring our aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Compliance Leader to join our team and help us maintain and enhance our technical compliance across our fleet. This opportunity is for a 12 Month Contract.
As the Technical Compliance Leader, you will play a critical role in managing our fleet by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. You will oversee Regulatory Reporting, Dispatch Deviation Guide (DDG) Management, configuration control, TRAX Database (Airworthiness) health and mandatory reporting, while leading a team to uphold the highest standards of technical excellence.
**What you’ll be doing**:

- Handle Engineering Investigations and final reporting per CASR Part 42.275 and EDTO reporting as per Lead group activities related to repetitive defects, emerging issues, NFFs, and V/Health tasks to maximize fleet reliability and minimize out-of-service times.
- Develop and oversee the TRAX Airworthiness Compliance database to ensure the Database remains compliant.
- Oversee Aircraft Configuration for Fleet Inductions & Exits and Weight and Balance changes in accordance with CAO 100.7.
- Conduct annual audits of AMP and manage amendment control of Aircraft Loadable Software Configuration Control.
- Ensure aircraft maintenance programs comply with CASR 42.140.
- Assist in the development of policies and processes to optimize fleet activity.
- Model leadership behaviours, mentor staff, and manage performance.
- Ensure staff training aligns with Induction & Training schedules and TNA process.
**You’ll be great in this role if you**:
- Hold or have held an aircraft engineer license in category B1, B2, or C, or an equivalent license; or hold a qualification in aircraft maintenance at least at Certificate IV level; or have an aviation maintenance management qualification at least at diploma level; or possess an engineering qualification at least at diploma level in aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, or electronics disciplines.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in an Airline Technical Services Management role with aircraft similar to those operated by the airline. Previous experience in Maintenance Control activities is essential.
- Advanced computer and data analysis skills, including report writing.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulations and standards applicable to the full range of functions within the CASR Part 42 Camo regulatory framework.
**What you’ll get from us**:
We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry - including (but not limited to):
