Machine Shop Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced **Machine Shop Supervisor** to lead and manage the daily operations of our Machine Shop. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality machining, and compliance with safety and operational standards. You will oversee a team of skilled tradespeople, apprentices, and assistants, coordinating machining, fabrication, and repairs while optimizing production and minimizing downtime.

**Key Responsibilities**

? Oversee and direct daily operations of the Machine Shop, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specification.
? Supervise and provide technical guidance to tradespeople, apprentices, and assistants.
? Manage motor and generator component repairs, ensuring quality and compliance with company standards.
? Optimize production efficiency, reducing downtime and improving workflow processes.
? Conduct performance reviews and provide training to enhance workforce capability.
? Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and workplace procedures.
? Maintain accurate documentation and reports on job completion, quality control, and operational performance.
? Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

**Key Criteria**
- **Trade Qualification**: Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner).
- **Experience**: Minimum **5 years’ experience** in a Machine Shop environment.
- **Leadership Skills**: Prior experience in **training and managing people**.
- **Technical Expertise**: Strong background in **manual machining, fabrication, and mechanical repairs**.
- **Machining Proficiency**: Hands-on experience with **lathes, milling machines, and precision tools**.
- **Communication & Coordination**: Ability to effectively manage staff, liaise with vendors, and coordinate workflows.
