We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused Maintenance Person to join our dedicated team in a role that supports the safety, function, and presentation of our community.

**Responsibilities**:
- Identifying maintenance needs and performing repairs. Carry out various basic repair tasks including, but not limited to: door and repairs, patch and painting repairs, basic plumbing (tap replacements), carpentry, flooring, safety installations like handrails and grab rails, and more residential repairs
- Perform general property maintenance and repairs (indoor & outdoor) The role also involves collaborating with contractors, managing maintenance requests, and assisting with equipment maintenance
- Repair or replace doors, locks, flyscreens, taps, handles, and light fittings
- Basic carpentry, plaster patching, and painting touch-ups
- Fix basic leaks in toilets, sinks, and other minor plumbing issues
- Assemble furniture or fittings as required
- Install or repair small fixtures and fittings (e.g. shelves, curtain rods, mirrors)
- Conduct safety checks and report larger issues to management
- Keep work areas clean and remove debris after completing tasks
- Have a Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role
- Strong practical skills across multiple trades (basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
- Source and promptly purchase necessary parts, tools, and supplies for each task while ensuring cost efficiency.
- Work with our team, interpreting work orders and scheduling daily tasks.
- Uphold OH&S guidelines, prioritising personal and resident safety.
- Efficiently utilise our job management software for task tracking, scheduling, reporting, and regular updates. maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities
- Represent Sunnymeade with professionalism during on-site engagements with clients.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to operate independently
- Basic computer skills.
- Participating in environmentally sustainable practices, Understand and adhere to Codes of Conduct
**Essentials**
- Written and verbal English language **(essential),**:
- Previous experience as a handy person/Maintenance Person
- Knowledge of general maintenance practices
- Experience operating and using tools and equipment
- Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety principles
**Skills and Experience**
- Ability to comply with safe work practices
- Current drivers licence
- Good communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience interacting with a wide range of people
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and/or their families/representatives
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Commitment to professional development and identifying opportunities for service improvement
- Previous experienced gained in a similar role; aged care experience highly regarded but not essential

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
