**About this role**
The focus of this role is to lead and input to a range of environmental-related projects and associated statutory approvals, either in support of a wider team or as the Environmental Lead. This will include National, State and local infrastructure and development projects across a diversity of sectors with a particular focus on transport and mobility, (renewable) energy, circular economy, nearshore and offshore maritime, waste, sustainability, precinct activation, aviation, and water.
This role will also support the execution and delivery of the environmental business strategy, specifically supporting the continued growth and develop of the Arup environmental practice within NSW/ACT and the Australasian region more broadly.

**What will I do?**
- Lead the growth of the environmental team in NSW/ACT, while assisting the other regional teams.
- Lead and deliver large complex infrastructure and development projects mainly in NSW/ACT and support similar projects in other Australian jurisdictions and to some extent the Australasian region. Coordinate people, facilities, and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and empower environmental planners and other individuals in NSW/ACT and regional team.
- Collaborate with Arup’s Business Leaders to secure work, negotiate major contracts and accounts, and cross-sell.
- Execute responsibilities as outlined in Arup’s Quality Management System in Project Director and Technical Director roles.

**What will I bring?**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar area
- 15 years or more of relevant industry experience in major projects within a consulting or Government business environment
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies
- Experience in environmental planning and assessments and leading project teams.
- Strong technical knowledge within the NSW/ACT with sufficient experience and credibility to influence key clients.
