**Staff Responsibility**: The Nominated Supervisor has direct line management responsibility for Service Staff relevant to the delivery of the educational and care program.

Staverton Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community kindergarten, with a caring and dedicated team of educators who strive for excellence in early childhood education through safe, guided and supported play. The centre has 2 units with 4 groups of children attending for a 5 day fortnight. After Kindy Hours Care AKHC is available until 5:30pm.

Purpose of Role
The Nominated Supervisor, Staverton Kindergarten is a senior and respected position within the Service, with overarching responsibility for the leadership and management of
the Service.
**Key duties include promoting and ensuring**:
- the delivery of high quality early childhood education and Kindergarten programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).
- strong trusting relationships between children, families and staff
- a strong and cohesive professional team
- meaningful parent participation in all aspects of service provision
- flexible relevant and responsive service provision
- cost effective service provision and the best investment of available resources.
The Nominated Supervisor reports to and works closely with the Management Committee (Approved Provider) and maintains a collaborative and productive working relationship with the Educational Leader, administration and staff team.
The Nominated Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all services and activities provided are consistent with the purpose, vision, and values of Staverton Kindergarten Association and comply with relevant legislation, quality standards, contemporary research and practice wisdom. The Staverton Kindergarten Association aspires to reflective practice in all aspects of work, continuous quality improvement and the highest possible standards of service provision.
Role Duties
Leadership and Management
Under the National Quality Framework accept the role of Nominated Supervisor as discussed in the Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Lead the provision of high quality early childhood education and care promoting the organisation philosophy.
- Promote, support and monitor the development, implementation and evaluation of relevant and responsive child-centred curricula/ programs.
- Support and supervise staff in their work at the service, promoting informed and reflective professional practice.
- Promote and facilitate meaningful parent participation in all aspects of service provision, and support staff in this important aspect of their work.
- Implement a range of proactive strategies to promote two-way information sharing between home and the service, including feedback on service provision.
- Facilitate regular and effective two-way communication between management and staff.
- Actively model and practise effective leadership and facilitate democratic participation in centre decision making.
- Guide the development of organisational policies, procedures and practices to promote and support high quality and cost effective service provision.
- Support the identification of potential funding sources, and the preparation of funding submissions.
- Support integrated service delivery through the development of professional networks with contacts outside the Service, including child health and other specialist services, schools, parenting and family support services.
Financial Management and Service Administration
- Maintain high standards of financial management and service administration to support the provision of high quality ECEC.
- Implement and maintain organisational policies and procedures relating to waiting lists, enrolments and the prompt filling of vacancies.
- Support timely and effective processing of data collection for related funding and accountability reports.
- In collaboration with the executive committee assist the formulation and evaluation of the service budget, monitor income and expenditure in accordance with budget estimates and ensure that all steps are taken to comply with the budget.
- Where applicable develop, implement and regularly review staff rosters to support high quality, staff equity and cost effective service provision.
- Identify and prioritise building and equipment maintenance requirements and work with the Committee of Management to address these requirements.
