**About the Role**

The Policy & Advocacy team develops health and social policies, leads the College’s government relations and advocacy initiatives, and provides advice on policy so that the College is actively engaged in health policy debate and is positioned to influence health and social policy in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, as it affects the Fellows and trainees, patients and communities that they serve.

This role is responsible for coordinating/managing the operational, project and administrative processes involved in delivering high quality and timely policy and advocacy services within Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This occurs in a complex organisation with diverse policy interests including multiple and often competing stakeholders and timeframes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordination and triage of incoming requests for policy and advocacy, and management of approval processes of outputs
- Committee management of committee, including supporting compliance with college governance and approval processes
- Write, develop and implement new processes, procedures, and guidance documents and prepare briefs, reports, correspondence, presentations and other documents as required
- Strategic advice to team members, college members, college officeholders, other RACP departments, and external stakeholders
- Project management to plan, deliver, and support Operations Team short term projects
- High level relationship management including communicating, negotiating and liaising with college members and employees
- Management of a small team and contribute to strategic and operational initiatives as part of the management team
- Budget coordination of annual and monthly accounts

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications or significant professional experience in a relevant discipline
- Experience managing a service team with rapid turnover consultation and approval processes to maximise stakeholder engagement and high-quality outputs according to policy
- Demonstrated strong problem solving and effective issue resolution skills including being a sound negotiator and expert influencer
- Demonstrated high-level communication (written and verbal), organisational skills and project management skills
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, particularly with internal clients
- Experience in coordinating staff to deliver high quality outputs within strict time constraints, in an environment of often competing priorities
- Experience in Committee management and governance with a commitment to complying with complex governance and approval processes
- Finance and budgeting skills
- Understanding of cultural safety and the College’s commitment to Indigenous aspirations and outcomes under its Constitution
