Our Support Workers are rostered on a range of Cahoots camps and programs, working with Kids, Teens and Adults.
Mandatory requirements:
- Applicants must be available during school holidays including upcoming school holidays in April.
- Must attend program or camp experiences, as a volunteer, before commencing training as a staff member.

**About the role**:
As a Support Worker, your role will involve working directly with our participants, providing duty of care on our camps and programs, managing complex situations, demonstrating excellent judgment and decision-making abilities and supporting the attainment of participants' NDIS objectives. Your main objective is to guarantee the overall welfare, safety, and growth of individuals with disabilities during their camp or program involvement. Additionally, you will offer support to volunteers, and students.
Essential criteria:
- Must be available for weekend and school holiday work, which includes overnight stays.
- Must have a full valid driving license.
- Passion for creating exceptional, safe and inclusive experiences for children and young people living with disabilities.
- Experience and/or understanding of the needs of people with disability and their families/carers.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate and liaise with a diverse and broad range of people.
- Ability to proactively deescalate potential conflict and behavioural triggers in participants and leaders and to resolve conflict and demonstrate behaviour management skills.
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability for after-hours work and travel.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Card or willingness to get these prior to start date.
Desirable:
- Health or Community Service Qualification.
- Experience supporting group activities or programs, particularly for people with living with disability.
