**Support Workers (Camps & Programs for Kids, Teens, Young Adults and High Support)**

Cahoots is looking for highly organised, experienced and caring professionals with a passion for creating great experiences for people living with disability or exceptional challenges.

Our Support Workers are rostered on a diverse range of Cahoots camps and programs, working with Kids, Teens, Young Adults, High Support participants, Youth at Risk, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, or a combination of the above.

Mandatory requirements:

- Applicants must be available during school holidays including upcoming school holidays in September.
- Must attend program or camp experiences, as a volunteer, before commencing training as a staff member.

**About the roles**:
**Support Workers** are responsible for duty of care, and ensuring all participants have a fun, safe and rewarding camp or program experience. These roles are focused on service delivery, which is after hours, weekends and during school holidays.

Essential criteria:

- Great attitude and a desire to learn (growth mindset).
- Passion for creating exceptional, safe and inclusive experiences for children and young people living with disabilities.
- Experience and/or understanding of the needs of people with disability and their families/carers.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate and liaise with a diverse and broad range of people.
- Ability to proactively deescalate potential conflict and behavioural triggers in participants and leaders and to resolve conflict and demonstrate behaviour management skills.
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be available for weekend and school holiday work.
- Availability for after-hours work and travel.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Card or willingness to get these prior to start date.
- Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19

Desirable:

- Current Driver's License.
- Health or Community Service Qualification.
- Experience supporting group activities or programs, particularly for people with living with disability.
- Medication Administration certificate or equivalent.

Successful Application Process
- Applicants will be invited to attend a group interview between 5th-9th September
- Successful applicants will be offered the role and given times to attend their volunteer shift
- Begin Support Worker in Training shifts from 27th September

**Job Types**: Casual, Seasonal

Pay: $31.00 - $55.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
