Our property includes the acclaimed ‘Rick Stein at Bannisters’ restaurant, the poolside Julio's, Spa Bannisters, and the vibrant Cheeky Dog pub bistro.

You’ll be an essential part of our operations, contributing to the smooth running of the hotel alongside a dedicated team of hospitality professionals.

**Who are we looking for?**

We’re seeking an experienced maintenance professional with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude. You’ll work closely with various departments, including Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food & Beverage, to address maintenance needs and ensure an exceptional experience for our guests.

Your ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and deliver excellent service will make you a valued member of our team.

**What will you be doing?**
- Performing basic plumbing, ground maintenance, general cleaning, and equipment/parts ordering.
- Managing the opening and closing of general hotel areas.
- Assisting with Front Office duties, including guest arrivals and departures.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS regulations.
- Maintaining a rotating maintenance schedule and mentoring team members through on-the-job training.

Bannisters Port Stephens Hotel, positioned in stunning Soldiers Point with water views of Port Stephens bay are looking for a porter / handy man to join our team.

We strive to provide a friendly, and personal guest experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Cleaning and maintaining the Common areas of the Hotel to a high standard
- Carry out general repairs to the building and hotel rooms, such as patching and painting, plumbing, carpentry and preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel.
- Basic handyman skills are a plus, but training will be provided.
- Current Driver license is essential.
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays is a must.

We're recruiting for a range of positions from casual to full-time, with plenty of opportunities for career growth within as the hotel evolves.
