**Who we are**
In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, **Compliance & Enforcement Division** monitor and assess risk to enhance compliance through effective regulatory intervention, ranging from education to enforcement which will ultimately safeguard our economy, trade, environment and agriculture.

The **Audit and Assurance Branch** assesses and improves compliance through the delivery of regulatory audit and assurance activities. The branch supports and contributes to the broader departments compliance policy in developing and developing and delivering a risk-based approach to regulation.

**The Job**
Responsibilities include the conduct of a range of audit activities to manage biosecurity, imported food, export, illegal logging and other regulatory risks. As an auditor, your duties may include, but are not limited to:

- The Auditor role undertakes audits across commodities and functions against the relevant criteria, to build strong industry compliance.
- Lead and/or conduct audits, assessing risk against relevant legislation, criteria and guidelines
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping is maintained, meeting guidelines and client service standards
- The role will work within the parameters of the Auditor Management Framework with the possibility of overseas, interstate or intrastate travel.
- All audit competencies and other training requirements will need to be maintained.

**Please note** that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
