**Job Description**:
**Your new opportunity at Nine**

This is a crucial, senior role driving content across one of Australia’s leading news, sport, lifestyle and entertainment sites and playing a major role in digital strategy and planning.
- Make editorial and legal decisions around news coverage and assign producers accordingly.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with 9News chief-of-staff desks, producers, reporters and social teams, as well as digital editors, producers and video producers across lifestyle, sport and entertainment verticals.
- Oversee off-platform content planning and delivery, including EDMs, app alerts, Apple News and Google Showcase content.
- Keep across analytics and latest SEO and digital trends to enable best practice for our audience
- Assist in planning for major news events.
- This is a full-time role based in Sydney but with the opportunity of some flexible working.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced news environment, but also knows their Scott Cam from their Tom Trbojevic. We want a team player - but also a leader who can motivate and inspire our fantastic young journos. And you must live and breathe digital, always looking for new and innovative ways we can reach our audience.
- This role will suit a senior digital journalist or digital editor with at least five years’ experience in a newsroom.
- We need someone energetic and engaged and who thrives in a breaking newsroom environment working under deadlines.
- Exceptional knowledge of national and international news.
- An excellent understanding of legal best practice, including defamation laws, is essential.
- A passion for nurturing talent. We want someone who will play an active role in our mentorship programs and training strategy.
