The One Basin CRC is a focused research collaboration developing policy, technical and financial solutions to support and reduce exposure to climate, water and environmental threats in the Murray-Darling Basin. The CRC includes more than 85 partners across industry, governments, research organisations and not for profits working to achieve a more productive, resilient and sustainable Murray-Darling Basin and beyond.

We are looking for a Head of Finance and Risk to join the team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This role involves strategic financial leadership to achieve the purposes of One Basin CRC.

Duties and key responsibilities:

- Strategic financial planning and management
- Financial reporting, including annual, board and to funding bodies and partners
- Engagement in day-to-day finance operations
- Management of finance systems updates
- Management of financial processes, policies and controls
- Risk management, including reviewing company insurances
- Monthly reconciliation and management reporting
- Oversee debtor and creditor management
- Contract, funding and grant administration
- Supervise annual finance audit and other required reporting

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role at an executive level in industry, government, NFP and/or research organisation
- Strong analytical skills, interpreting data and information from a number of sources
- Sound leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Strategic financial management capability
- Risk management approach - ability to identify and mitigate risks
- Experience in developing and presenting annual and board financial reporting
- Demonstrated judgement weighing complex and incomplete information to make sound decisions
- A focus on a fostering a culture of accountability and achievement
- Effective communications skills - clear and transparent
- Strong work ethics and an understanding of the importance of the role to the organisation
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and other requirements
- Relationship building - cultivating productive working relationships with stakeholders

- Degree or equivalent experience in finance and/or business administration

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
