Rigging and Lifting Equipment Service and Testing Technician

**The Role**

Working as part of the Service and Production team in our Newcastle branch, your role will include providing production, inspection, installation, and testing services for Certex Lifting clients, both onsite and offsite.

The role will require reasonable overnight travel and weekend work as required to service the needs of our clients. Overtime and weekend work is paid at penalty rates.

A snapshot of the role includes:

- Conduct on-site and off-site testing, inspections and tagging, for rigging, lifting and height safety equipment.
- Installation and replacement of rigging, lifting and height safety equipment on client sites.
- Assembly, inspection, service, and installation of wire rope hoisting and rigging systems.
- Guide and peer-review the work of Trainee and Level 1 Service Technicians.
- Liaising with customers on-site, and liaising with sales, workshop, and warehouse teams as required to solve problems and meet customer needs.
- Working at heights and in confined spaces as required, (dependent on qualifications).

**What we are looking for**
- At least 2 years of experience as a rigging and lifting equipment service technician, including manufacturing, inspection, and testing of rigging systems, ideally including wire rope.
- High Risk Work Licences including Forklift, Dogging and Basic Rigging (and willing to obtain Intermediate Licence), and Elevated Work Platform.
- A current, unrestricted driver’s license.
- You can work in a physical environment, including regularly lifting (safe) loads in accordance with WHS procedures, standing for long periods, and working with impact tools.
- You are willing to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening, and additional assessment and testing if required by clients.
- You can obtain a Police Clearance that won’t prevent you from accessing client sites (e.g. e.g. mining and construction industries), if required.
- You are willing do overnight travel to client sites, including remote sites when required, and weekend work.
- You have the legal right to work in Australia on a full time, permanent basis.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
